We talked in our last post about how weāre selling our family home and how I have made the decision to take a leap into the unknown with a move to Spain. I have spent hours and hours scouring and searching for the perfect location and neighbourhood as well as the perfect house.
I have been looking at an array of styles from new builds to homes that have a little more rustic charm and just need a little love inside. It has been a really exciting process and I think I have finally found the house of my dreams after revising my must-have list a number of times.
It now includes a specific style swimming pool with easy access steps (for the dog to easily get in and out of, of course), as well as a basement for the cold Spanish winter to make into a cosy cinema room snug.
Iāve set about creating a rough design of the blank canvas with my mood board being luxurious and modern with marble and lots of luxurious textures. Having looked at many ideas on Pinterest and Instagram, I finally think that Iāve chosen a look that I will be proud to show off to my guests.
I love the idea of using marble tables, sideboards and countertops in the living space to create a really sophisticated space, here are a couple of reasons Iāve chosen this particular style
MARBLE IS A TIMELESS CLASSIC
Marble has always been and will always be an in vogue material, it has been used in cultures globally for centuries and my guess is that it wonāt go out of style. This is because of the opulent unique and recognisable pattern that it shows. People see marble and recognise it instantly.
Adding marble to any surface creates a clean regal feel and with different styles of marble at different prices, it can be easily affordable too. Using marble for a dining room table can completely transform the feel and look of the room.

Even though marble is instantly recognisable, there are a wide variety of styles and colours to choose.
With that being said there are 5 main types of marble. The options in colour, shine, and patterns of marblings vary from one kind to another. Marble holds a unique pattern too as it comes from nature, therefore, you will find that no two blocks of marble will ever be identical and thatās a really lovely thought.

Marble is one of the very few materials that is able to withstand the test of time without being too bulky or overbearing. However, it is important to understand that great looking marble doesnāt come without proper care!
You should ensure that you maintain your marble pieces clean and shiny, and make sure not to be careless and scratch it as scratches do show.
A marble dining table will undoubtedly, steal the limelight as it will stand out from any other item in the room being as robust yet delicate as it is. This goes without saying too if youāre thinking about adding a marble top to an island in your kitchen or choosing marble countertops like Iām going to opt for.
