As wearing face masks in the UK becomes compulsory on public transport this week we have a feeling that seeing sights of masks will become a daily norm so we’ve got 5 tips for wearing a face mask. We’ve teamed up with The Naked Mask, a designer fabric face mask company to help give you some top tips.
If you’re already wearing a face mask out, we highly commend you. If you’re not wearing a face mask then perhaps it’s time to really start thinking about how it can effectively help us lower the R rate and get us back on holiday and doing the things that we love once more.
Buy a substantial face mask
We have seen many stores selling low-grade, single-use masks for an exorbitantly high premium. Whilst these are great if you’re just nipping into the shop for your weekly shopping, they’re not exactly designed to last and these single-use masks can start getting pretty expensive if you’re using a couple of disposable masks a day.
Why not invest in a more substantial face mask, something like the one below which boasts 3 layers of protection for others, which will help stop the spread.
Be prepared for travel
With countries starting to discuss opening their borders to travel makers special requirements have been introduced in airports and will be a regulation onboard an aeroplane too. Whilst some airlines require you to change your mask every 4 hours others are just requiring you to wear a face mask for your entire journey. You will also have to change from one mask into another when moving from airport to plane. Make sure that you have a couple of masks with you, again more substantial ones may be better value (and offer better protection) than disposable masks
Make your face mask fit
Now whilst many masks only come in one size, it’s important to note that sometimes these gape at the side of your face, which makes wearing a face mask pointless in this situation. Our top tip if you find that your mask is too big for your face is to knot the elastic at each side of the material, thus cinching the face mask in to provide a better fit
Respect others around you
Whilst wearing a face mask it’s super important that you still respect others around you and maintain social distancing. Wearing a face mask doesn’t make you invincible from COVID-19, it simply means that you are protecting others around you from the spread. So please remember that wearing a face mask is great, however, it is imperative that you ensure that you do adhere to other social distancing measures too!
Make face masks fun
Wearing a face mask doesn’t have to be bland and boring, lighten up the mood with a printed design to match your personality or your outfit. You can choose from lots of patterns and prints as well as beautiful scenery and funny faces at The Naked Mask to help you really add a little bit of fun to your day!
Recently The Sunday Times featured a whole segment on how many brands are now offering their designer face masks with huge pre-orders for both Louis Vuitton and Fendi people are seeing that masks are certainly here to stay, and it’s worth making it fashionable while you’re at it!
