I’m a huge fan of vacationing to Las Vegas, so much so that this year will mark my 5th visit to Sin City and with every trip, I seem to get a little more excited. Whether this is because I’m more aware of my surroundings and I’m not consumed by the neon lights and tinkling slot machines or because I now know how to pace myself and where’s good to go I don’t know. What I do know though, is where’s good to go to eat in Las Vegas.

With hundreds of restaurants, bars, fast food placed and diners both on and off the strip, it’s difficult to choose where to dine. Often it’s a haphazard ‘wherever nearest’ decision or you can be overwhelmed you’re not sure where is good.
Of course, there are hundreds of reviews of the hundreds of places to eat so perhaps create yourself a list of;
– Essential: must go to
– Perhaps: would like to go and
– If we’re passing: will go if not too much hassle
Soon you’ll discover that your available eating time is far outweighed by the restaurants you’d like to eat at.
Top tip: have a look at the Las Vegas Groupon site before you travel. We always purchase some Groupons before we go and save ourself some dollars at restaurants we know we’re going to eat at.
Sugar Factory at Fashion Show Mall
I think we visit here as a tradition, having visited every single time we come to Sin City. With over the top goblet cocktails, an extensive menu and plus decor Sugar Factory is one of our favourite places to visit. Serving burgers and pizzas, steaks and salads.
Their main menu is not only tasty but also reasonably priced. They offer a great breakfast menu and admittedly the red velvet pancakes are a must! You might spot a famous face or two if you’re lucky with both Drake and Pitbull having created cocktail goblets for the menu and the Kardashians being fans of a sugar pop there’s plenty of famous faces strewn over the back of the menu.
The Wicked Spoon at The Cosmopolitan
If you’re looking for a buffet that really wows then I highly recommend The Wicked Spoon in the Cosmopolitan. Especially when it comes to their bottomless champagne brunch on a Sunday. With an extensive selection of foods from world cuisines, there’s something for everybody, including the pickiest of eaters. What I particularly like about The Wicked Spoon is that most of the dishes are served individually in cute or quirky serving ways. From the culinary food hall, you’ll find pad Thai in mini take out boxes, ship and grits in mini frying pans and even homemade pappardelle with wild mushrooms in cast-iron cocottes.
Go hungry as this all you can eat will feed your soul with good food, an enchanting atmosphere and although bustling, there’s no demand for you to leave. Sit back, sip champagne and enjoy the feast. Do save room for dessert though! The dessert cabinet has an array of sweet treats that will make even the most savoury fiends lick their lips. I dare you to not try all that The Wicked Spoon has to offer!
Giada at The Cromwell
Located in The Cromwell, Emmy-award winning chef Giada De Laurentiis showcases her fine Italian dining in this opulent restaurant. We did get a Groupon for our meal here which gave us credit, plus two glasses of champagne on arrival which was well worth purchasing as this is one of the higher priced restaurants on the strip.
The food is hearty Italian with a luxe twist. The attention to detail is amazing and if you can get past the surly waitstaff then you’ll thoroughly enjoy your Giada experience. We opted for the Chicken Cacciatore style as we had read that this was her signature dish. It was exceptionally delicious and teamed with the lemon potatoes we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Although this wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice in Vegas, it is a lovely choice for a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or just a lovely treat.
Mercato Della Pescheria at The Venetian
The Venetian is like a little rabbit warren, who am I kidding? All of the hotels in Vegas are, so make sure you pack comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking for miles daily. Mercato Della Pescheria is located at St Mark’s Square inside The Venetian and boasts an Italian seafood market with a great vibe. With a selection of hearty Italian dishes all made fresh, including all of the pasta, which is handmade daily. We sampled many of the dishes and the Mixed Seafood Linguine alongside the Bucatini Carbonara were our favourites.
They also make table side Tiramisu which is absolutely divine and fresh. It’s made of course, at your table while you watch and a great spectacle for all those around watching. This is both a great lunchtime venue or an evening choice. They specialise in wines, however with an extensive cocktail menu, you’ll be spoiled for choice. The ambience is really lovely if you sit ‘outside’ in the square as you can watch all the entertainment happening before you.
Top tip: If you’re looking to visit buffets or redeem credits for meals in the MGM resorts then get playing MyVegas before you go, available on both Apple and Android stores you spin virtual slots to collect gold coins. These gold coins can be redeemed for many different rewards at the MLife counter in all of the MGM hotels. We’ve played this for the entire duration we’ve been going to Las Vegas and redeemed some incredible rewards such as buffets and experiences.
We’re heading back to Las Vegas at the end of the year for our annual trip for my daughter’s birthday which falls around Thanksgiving and Black Friday (lots of shopping for us!) so I’ll update you upon my return of other restaurants that we’ve tried and enjoyed.
